At the start I had my 6 indoor Cats, 2 Weimaraner's, Lilly and Jasper and then got Isabelle, my first min pin and decided that we wanted to have a new litter of puppies of our own. Lilly had one litter and then we had her spayed because Lilly was just not meant for breeding and had such a hard time delivering that we weren't willing to risk her life to have another litter of beautiful little Weimaraner puppies. Lilly is not just our “dog”, she is part of our family. We don't have “two legged” children of our own, (and never have) so we have made all of our “4 legged” babies our children. We love our dogs as much as any mother loves their children, and always have. We decided to breed Isabelle and she was such a good mommy and had the most gorgeous, healthy puppies that we knew breeding min pins was in our future. It brought us so much joy. I am there when every new puppy is brought into this world. My dogs are so spoiled they wouldn't have their babies without me there and I wouldn't have it any other way. My vet bill is a fortune because like any mother, if you don't know what is wrong with your baby, you take it to the doctor. I am not one of those breeders that self diagnosis’ their dogs. Of course my vet loves me because I am always there and he thinks it’s funny that I worry so much but I would just be sick if anything were to happen to one of my babies and I hadn't done anything about it. My vet calls me “the worrier” and says he is more like pediatrician than a vet when it comes to me. I probably will never get over my “new mommy” worries but I would rather be safe than sorry.
