About Us &
Our Other Pets
at Enchanted Ridge
About a year or so ago, another Min Pin breeder made accusations against me that my dogs were not well taken care of. I called AKC and asked them to please come out and inspect my home. Understand that please. I called AKC. I have nothing to hide and wanted to put to rest any fears anyone might have that my dogs are not healthy or well taken care of, but more than that….they are loved.  My husband works full time so my breeding is NOT our income like a lot of breeders. We do it because we love it.

We are proud of our large family and we welcome anyone into our home to meet our family.

Our Wonderful Home
My husband and I are both big animal lovers. We have had dogs and cats in our home since the day we got married. We have fostered many pets until permanent home could be found for them, we made regular visits to the local humane society because they were no dog rescues in such a small town, so we would go and save the healthy dogs and cats that were scheduled to be put down and find them wonderful loving homes, never asking the new families for the money we had to spend to save their lives. Getting them placed with wonderful families was payment enough for us and for anyone who has ever rescued animal, money is no comparison to seeing a rescued dog or cat in the arms of someone who is going to love it forever. Someone once said “To the world you are a rescue person…To a rescued dog, you are the world”.

At the start I had my 6 indoor Cats, 2 Weimaraner's, Lilly and Jasper and then got Isabelle, my first min pin and decided that we wanted to have a new litter of puppies of our own. Lilly had one litter and then we had her spayed because Lilly was just not meant for breeding and had such a hard time delivering that we weren't willing to risk her life to have another litter of beautiful little Weimaraner puppies. Lilly is not just our “dog”, she is part of our family. We don't have “two legged” children of our own, (and never have) so we have made all of our “4 legged” babies our children. We love our dogs as much as any mother loves their children, and always have. We decided to breed Isabelle and she was such a good mommy and had the most gorgeous, healthy puppies that we knew breeding min pins was in our future. It brought us so much joy. I am there when every new puppy is brought into this world. My dogs are so spoiled they wouldn't have their babies without me there and I wouldn't have it any other way. My vet bill is a fortune because like any mother, if you don't know what is wrong with your baby, you take it to the doctor. I am not one of those breeders that self diagnosis’ their dogs. Of course my vet loves me because I am always there and he thinks it’s funny that I worry so much but I would just be sick if anything were to happen to one of my babies and I hadn't done anything about it. My vet calls me “the worrier” and says he is more like pediatrician than a vet when it comes to me. I probably will never get over my “new mommy” worries but I would rather be safe than sorry.
We bought a fixer upper house and started remodeling with the intentions that we could have a family together here and by family, I mean the dogs and cats we love so much. We remodeled the house making it dog proof, which was perfect for us. Lilly our Weim is the love of our life but now we have lots of beautiful babies and Lilly is the guardian angel to my new mommies and puppies. It is so wonderful to watch. I don't work so I am here all day, every day, taking care of our babies and seeing to their every need. We used to take our “kids” with us every where we went but we have so many now that we would need a small RV to take them all, so we go very few places. My husband and I do NOT play favorites with the dogs we have had longer. We love them all the same. Just like mother with children, she won't do for one what she can't do for them all.

My husband and I have been breeding now for about 7 years. I absolutely love it. We do have what most people would consider a lot of dogs, but they are well taken care of. There are no kennels here, there are no dog runs and they are not locked in cages all day. They run free, play free and are happy, healthy and loved and I would put the care of my many dogs and cats up against anyone, breeders or just a regular family with a couple of dogs.
